Russel D McLean is the author of five novels set in Dundee, and one set in Glasgow. His debut, The Good Son, was shortlisted for a Shamus Award by the Private Eye Writers of America in 2010. His latest book, And When I Die (Sept 2016), is the first of three planned novels set in a fictional Glasgow underworld.
Russel spent ten years working as a bookseller in Dundee and Glasgow before deciding to focus on his writing full time. He also works as a freelance editor. His reviews and interviews with crime writers have appeared in newspapers and magazines such as the Herald, the Skinny, and the Independent on Sunday. He is co-founder of Noir at the Bar Glasgow, an occasional evening of crime and drinks in the Glasgow area (facebook.com/NATBGlasgow). While living in Dundee, his flat came complete with its very own haunted mask.
