The chance to revisit Trainspotting twenty years on thanks to T2 has been brill, so we’ve put together a few ways to keep the party going. You are welcome.
1. Trainspotting Live.
“Seventy-five of the most intense, funny, and moving minutes of theatre I have ever experienced.” “Unapologetic, brutal, a masterpiece…” Trainspotting Live is a theatre show that you absolutely need to go see. The reviews keep flooding in – do not miss this | TrainspottingLive.com
2. Neu! Reekie!
Part fundraiser for Leith Theatre, part must-attend for Trainspotting fans, watch the movie, The Fire Engines reform, internationally renowned DJ Arthur Baker makes his Edinburgh debut, and Irvine Welsh himself offers the world premier of ‘new work with a Trainspotting work’ this August. We have no idea what the means but we know we are there. Keep an eye out in case any spare tickets arise | Tickets
3. Dive back into the books.
We love revisiting favourite books and Trainspotting loses nothing when you return to it. Porno has also been rebranded as T2 Trainspotting to tie back into the film, so, as the title suggested, pick them up and dive back into where it all started | Irvine’s books
4. Then dive into the Blade Artist.
Youtube is rammed with book festival appearances, and in 2016, Irvine joined the Edinburgh Book Festival to talk about The Blade Artist, and the return of Begbie. If you’ve not had the chance to read it yet, here’s an interview and reading to get started with:
5. Movie night.
Ever really need an excuse to do this? Crack out the films, dive back into the brilliance of Trainspotting and watch them back to back. The finest way to jump back into the world of Trainspotting from the comfort of your couch.
