What is #ScotLitFest?

A celebration of Scottish literature. Scot Lit Fest is a virtual book festival that launched in 2016  as part of The Saltire Society‘s 80th anniversary celebrations, and returns on the weekend of July 21st-23rd 2017. We bring a host of the best and brightest authors straight to you, wherever you are in the world. Live video streams, Twitter and Facebook chats, collaborative events, exclusive content – we have it all for fans of Scottish literature and culture.

Who’s behind #ScotLitFest?

The festival is presented by The Saltire Society. Founded in 1936, they are a non-political body concerned with all aspects of Scottish life and culture. Through their Awards they promote excellence in the arts and sciences. The festival is funded by Creative Scotland.

The Saltire Society literary awards have been described as “the premiere prize for writing by Scots or about Scotland”, annually awarding authors across numerous categories.

More precisely, #ScotLitFest is coordinated by Heather McDaid and Laura Jones.
